Terms of Service

Effective date: June 1, 2026

Welcome to StridePics ("Stride," "we," "us"). Stride is operated by CDD LLC, based in central Indiana. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of stridepics.com, app.stridepics.com, and our race photo galleries (together, the "Service").

1. Accepting these terms

By using the Service, creating an account, or buying a photo, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you're using Stride on behalf of a race or organization, you agree for that organization and confirm you have authority to do so. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. How Stride works

Race organizers and their photographers upload race photos. Stride identifies runners in each photo primarily by bib number, and runners search a race gallery by bib number to find, view, and buy (or download for free) their photos. Runners don't need an account.

3. Accounts for organizers and photographers

  • You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information.
  • Keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity under your account.
  • Organizers can sign up at app.stridepics.com. Self-serve accounts start on the revenue share plan (Section 7).
  • Organizers may invite photographers. Organizers are responsible for the people they add.

4. Organizer responsibilities

If you upload photos or run a race on Stride, you confirm that:

  • You have the rights to the photos. You own them or have permission from the photographers (and anyone else with rights) to upload them, grant the license in Section 5, and let runners use their photos as described in Section 6.
  • Participants have been notified. You've given participants appropriate notice, and obtained any consent needed under applicable law, that they may be photographed and that photos will be posted in a public gallery and offered for sale or download. A race waiver or registration terms is a common way to do this.
  • Minors are covered. Where participants are under 18, any needed consent has been obtained from a parent or guardian.
  • Your bib data is accurate. Bib numbers and participant data you provide are accurate and you have the right to share them with us.
  • You'll help with removals. You'll cooperate with reasonable photo removal requests from participants.
  • You'll use runner data responsibly. You can access information about runners who buy photos from your race, including their email addresses. You'll use it only in compliance with applicable law (including anti-spam and privacy laws) and your own privacy policy, and you're responsible for how your race uses it.

5. License you give Stride

You (or your photographers) keep ownership of your photos. You can download your race's photos and use them however you like, subject to any agreements you have with your photographers. You grant Stride a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license, for as long as the photos are on the Service, to host, store, copy, process (including bib detection and watermarking), display, distribute, and sell or deliver the photos to runners for your race, and to do what's otherwise needed to operate the Service.

You also allow Stride to:

  • Improve our technology: use photos to train, test, and improve our bib-detection and matching tools.
  • Promote Stride: display a small number of photos on our website, social media, and marketing materials to show what Stride does. We'll remove a photo from promotional use if the organizer, photographer, or a person shown in it asks us to. If you delete a race or your account, these copies are deleted too (see Section 14).

6. Runner purchases and use of photos

  • Prices are set by the race. Some races pay Stride up front so photos are free for runners.
  • Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Stride does not store full card numbers.
  • Using your photos: When you buy or download a photo, you can use it however you want, including printing it and sharing it on social media, as long as your use is lawful. This doesn't transfer copyright ownership of the photo.
  • Save your photos: Organizers can take down or delete their galleries at any time, and purchases don't include a permanent right to re-download. Please download and save your photos after you get them.
  • Refunds: If a system error charges you twice for the same bib number under the same email address, we'll refund the duplicate charge. Contact us at conner@stridepics.com. Otherwise, all sales are final.

7. Revenue share and payouts (organizers)

  • Revenue share plan: Runners buy photos at the price the race sets. Of each sale, 70% goes to the race and 30% to Stride, calculated on the gross checkout amount. Payment processing fees come out of Stride's 30% share, so the race receives a full 70%. Where applicable, sales tax is added as a separate line item on top of the photo price and is not included in the 70/30 split.
  • Prepaid plan: The race pays Stride up front and photos are free for runners.
  • Other arrangements, including Stride providing photographers, must be agreed separately in writing. If a written agreement conflicts with these Terms, the written agreement controls.
  • Payouts are made through Stripe Connect to your race's connected bank account. Each sale becomes available for payout after a 7-day holding period, and available funds are paid out daily. There is no minimum payout amount. You must set up a Stripe Connect account and provide accurate payout and tax information.
  • Refunds and chargebacks may be deducted from future payouts.
  • You're responsible for any taxes on amounts you receive.

8. Acceptable use

Don't:

  • Upload photos you don't have rights to, or content that is illegal, sexual, harassing, or invades someone's privacy
  • Scrape, bulk-download, or remove watermarks from gallery photos (this doesn't limit organizers downloading their own race's photos, or runners downloading photos they've bought or received free)
  • Use the Service to track, stalk, or harass anyone
  • Try to identify people from photos in ways that violate their privacy or the law
  • Interfere with, hack, or overload the Service, or reverse-engineer our technology
  • Use the Service for anything unlawful

We may remove content or suspend access if we believe these rules are broken.

9. Intellectual property

Stride's software, bib-detection technology, design, logos, and the StridePics name belong to CDD LLC. These Terms don't give you rights to them except to use the Service as intended. Photos belong to their owners (usually the photographer or race), subject to the licenses above. If you send us feedback, we may use it freely.

10. Takedown and removal requests

  • Organizers can take down their race's gallery at any time from their account or by emailing us.
  • Photos of you: Email conner@stridepics.com with the race, bib number, and photo, and we'll remove or hide it from the public gallery.
  • Copyright complaints: If you believe a photo infringes your copyright, email conner@stridepics.com with: your contact information; the work you own; the photo's location on the Service; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your signature. We may remove the photo and notify the uploader, who may respond.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Bib matching is automated and may be imperfect: some photos may be missed, matched to the wrong runner, or unavailable, and not every runner will be found in the photos. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular photo will exist. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Stride and CDD LLC won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the total fees Stride earned from the race the claim relates to during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Indemnity

If you upload photos or run a race on Stride, you agree to defend and indemnify CDD LLC and its owner from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your photos, your bib or participant data, your failure to obtain needed rights or consents, or your breach of these Terms.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. Organizers can close their account by emailing us. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if needed to protect the Service or others; otherwise we'll try to give 30 days' notice. After termination, we'll pay any payouts owed (minus refunds and chargebacks). If an organizer deletes a race or their account, that race's gallery comes down and its photos are removed. All copies, including any used for promotion or to improve our bib detection and any backups, are deleted within 30 days. Runners will no longer be able to view or re-download them. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as licenses already granted to runners, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Boone County, Indiana, and you agree to those courts' jurisdiction.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the effective date above, and for material changes we'll give notice (such as on our website or by email to account holders) at least 30 days before they take effect where practical. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.

17. General

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms (plus any separate written agreement with an organizer) are the entire agreement about the Service.
