Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how StridePics ("Stride," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use stridepics.com, app.stridepics.com, and our race photo galleries (together, the "Service").

Who we are

Stride is operated by CDD LLC, based in central Indiana, USA. If you have questions about this policy or your information, email us at conner@stridepics.com.

Stride helps race organizers share race photos with their participants. Organizers and photographers upload photos, we match photos to runners by bib number, and runners find their photos by searching a race gallery.

Information we collect

From race organizers and photographers (account holders)

  • Name, email address, organization name, and login details
  • Race details, such as event name, date, and bib/participant data you upload
  • Payout details needed to send you your share of sales (handled through our payment processor)
  • Messages you send us

From runners and other gallery visitors

  • Bib searches: the bib numbers and race you search for
  • Purchase information: what you bought, the amount, and the date. Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Email address, if you give it to us (for example, to receive your photos or a receipt). If you make a purchase, the race organizer can see your email address (see "How we share information").
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and similar information collected automatically

No account is needed to search for or buy photos.

Race photos and bib numbers Photos uploaded to Stride may show runners, spectators, volunteers, and others. Photos may include bib numbers, clothing, and other visible details. We also store the bib numbers matched to each photo.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Run the Service: host galleries, match photos to bibs, let runners search, and deliver purchased photos
  • Improve our bib-detection and matching technology using uploaded photos
  • Promote Stride, for example by showing a small number of race photos on our website or social media (we'll stop on request)
  • Process purchases and pay race organizers their share
  • Provide support and respond to removal and privacy requests
  • Understand how the Service is used and improve it
  • Keep the Service secure and prevent fraud or misuse
  • Send service messages (like receipts and photo delivery). We do not use runner email addresses for marketing.
  • Comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Service

How bib matching works

When photos are uploaded, our in-house detection technology looks for bib numbers in each photo and links the photo to those bib numbers. Matching is done primarily by bib number.

To help with photos where a bib is hidden, blurry, or unclear, our tools can compare people across photos using visible attributes such as clothing, apparent gender, hair, and glasses. This produces a comparison score that suggests which photos likely show the same runner. People then review these suggestions before a match is confirmed.

These comparisons are used only to suggest likely matches within a race's photos. They don't tell us who someone is, and we don't use them to identify people. Stride does not use facial recognition.

We may also use third-party AI services, such as OpenAI, to help process photos and related data for matching and related features. These services are used for the same purposes described above, not to identify who someone is, and not for facial recognition.

Matching isn't perfect. Some photos may be missed or matched to the wrong bib. If you see a problem, let us know.

How we share information

We share information only as described here:

  • With the race organizer: Organizers can see photos, bib matches, and sales information for their race. If you buy a photo, the race organizer can see your purchase details, including your email address. Stride doesn't control how races use this information. The race's own privacy practices govern its use, so please check the race's privacy policy or contact the race with questions.
  • With our payment processor (Stripe): to process payments and payouts.
  • With service providers who help us run the Service, such as website hosting and security (Cloudflare), cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services), product analytics (Mixpanel), and AI services (OpenAI), which may process photos and related data to help with bib matching and related features. These providers may use information only to provide services to us.
  • With advertising partners: We may use advertising tools such as Google Ads. These use cookies or pixels that may collect device and browsing information (such as pages visited and whether you made a purchase) to measure how well our ads perform. See "Cookies and analytics" below for how to opt out.
  • For legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Stride, our users, or others.
  • In a business transfer: if Stride or CDD LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal.
  • With your permission.

We do not sell runner email addresses, use them for marketing, or give them to advertising partners. We don't sell personal information for money. However, if we use advertising cookies like Google Ads, some state laws may treat that as "selling" or "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described in "Cookies and analytics" and "Your choices and rights."

Public galleries

Anyone with a race's gallery link can view that race's photos, shown with a watermark. Visitors can search by bib number to find photos matched to a bib. Races often share gallery links publicly, and bib numbers are often visible in results or at the race, so others may be able to find photos of you. Full-resolution, unwatermarked photos are available only after purchase, or for free when the race has prepaid.

Photo removal requests

Don't want a photo of you shown? Email conner@stridepics.com with the race name, the bib number, and the photo (a link or screenshot helps). We'll remove or hide the photo from the gallery, usually after checking with the race organizer, and we'll stop using it in any Stride promotional materials. We may keep a copy where needed for legal or record-keeping reasons.

How long we keep information

  • Race photos and galleries: We keep photos until the race organizer removes them or deletes the race or their account, or as otherwise needed (for example, to handle a legal request or dispute). Organizers can take down a gallery at any time. When an organizer deletes a race or their account, that race's photos are removed from the Service, and all copies, including any used for promotion or to improve our bib detection and any backups, are deleted within 30 days. A photo can also be removed sooner through a removal request.
  • Purchased photos: If a race's gallery is taken down or deleted, purchased photos may no longer be available to re-download. Please download and save your photos after you buy them.
  • Account and purchase records: kept while the account is active and for seven years afterward, or longer if the law requires (for example, tax and accounting records).
  • Usage and analytics data: kept only as long as useful for the purposes above.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If you think your information has been compromised, contact us.

Children

Races may include participants under 18, so photos of minors may appear in galleries. Race organizers are responsible for getting any needed consents from participants and parents or guardians, typically through race registration and waivers. Stride is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information directly from them.

If you are a parent or guardian and want a photo of your child removed, email conner@stridepics.com and we'll take it down.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies (like local storage) to keep the Service working, remember preferences, and keep it secure. We use Mixpanel to understand how people use the Service (for example, which pages are visited and which features are used). Our site runs on Cloudflare, which may process technical data (like IP address) for security and performance.

Advertising. We may use advertising cookies and pixels, such as those from Google Ads, to measure how our ads perform (for example, whether someone who clicked an ad later visited or bought photos). Google may collect information such as your device, browser, and activity on our site. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Your choices:

  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings (some parts of the Service may not work properly).
  • Manage ad personalization in your Google My Ad Center.
  • When we use advertising cookies, we'll show a cookie banner that lets you opt out of them.
  • Use a browser or extension that sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We treat GPC as a request to opt out of advertising cookies and any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for that browser.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information
  • Ask us to remove or hide a photo of you
  • Opt out of advertising cookies, including through Global Privacy Control signals (see "Cookies and analytics")
  • Organizers can update account details in the app or ask us to close the account

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws (such as those in California, Indiana, and other states) may give you additional rights, such as the right to know what information we have about you, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. We will honor these requests as required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for using your rights.

To make a request, email conner@stridepics.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. If we deny your request, you may be able to appeal by replying to our response.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above, and for significant changes we'll give additional notice (such as on our website or by email to account holders).
